Promote Edge Apps

Advertise your Edge panel and feed apps within the Galaxy Apps store based on information, graphics, and videos registered with your products; advertise them in your media channels with Samsung help

The Samsung Galaxy Apps store promotes your Edge apps in a variety of ways.  Samsung also assists you in promoting your Edge apps via advertising channels outside the Galaxy Apps store, including download discounts and coupon codes.

Galaxy Apps Store Promotions

Galaxy Apps promotes your Edge products via: your its detail page, in marketing areas with other apps and products, and by using banners.

All Edge Products 

Each app and product distributed in the Galaxy Apps store has a detail page, which is the primary page promoting your apps and products. Apps and products that meet certain eligibility criteria are also listed in one or more market areas, from which customers can access detail pages.

Detail Page

A detail page is where your customers review your app / product information and initiate download. The detail page shows information such as title, description, and pricing, graphic images including screenshots, and video files registered to your app or product. You can change what is shown at any time via Samsung Seller Office.

Galaxy Apps Store Market Areas

The Galaxy Apps store promotes your apps and products in a variety of market areas.

Edge Store

All Edge panel and feed apps are listed in the Edge Store section of Galaxy Apps.

Edge Store subsections list Edge apps based on commercial or free distribution, number of downloads, and when Edge apps were initially distributed.

Your Edge app information is registered with Seller Office.

Category

All apps and products are categorized according to their type as registered with Seller Office:

  • All categories page:

    • Search function

    • Theme Store promotional banner

    • Links to each category of app or product

  • Single category page

    • Apps and products grouped by: all, paid (commercial), free, and newly released.

    • Each app / product card links to its detail page.

    • UI buttons enable users to:

      • Purchase and download apps and products.

      • Update apps and products that have a newer release.

      • Access any apps and products that users have already downloaded.

Top Free and Top Paid

The Top Free and Top Paid page lists the 300 apps and products with the highest number of downloads:

  • Top Free: Users can download without paying

  • Top Paid: Users pay a fee to download

 

Select Edge Products

You can request special promotion selection via an SDP helpdesk promotion request ticket. Our editorial team will evaluate your content and request and determine whether to select your Edge products. Join SDP, sign in, and submit a request ticket via the JOIN SDP link below.

Banners

Collections of apps and products that meet selection criteria are promoted using banners, which typically increase daily downloads by four to five times. The Samsung Galaxy Apps Store editorial staff creates banners for trending topics, select the apps and products to be included in each collection, and determine each banner's promotion start and stop dates.

Galaxy Apps Store Market Areas

Your app and product detail pages are either available without restriction or potentially available, based on categorization, current downloads, and selection, to customers in the Galaxy Apps store. After a customer selects your app or product, their detail pages are available in the following areas of the Galaxy Apps store.

Promotes apps and products that the Galaxy Apps editorial team has specially selected:

  • Selected apps and products are presented in specifically designed banners.

  • Our editorial team merchandises the store weekly and uses that information to refresh promoted content.

Exclusives

Promotes apps and products available only in the Galaxy Apps store that are different from other apps and products, optimized for Samsung devices, and/or contribute to the overall revenue and traffic of the section.  

 

Promotion outside Galaxy Apps

Samsung helps you promote your app (Android app or Gear app), Theme product (theme, wallpaper, icon pack, AOD), or Edge product (Edge panel app or Edge feed app) via your marketing media (for example, websites, social media, and emails).

This section presents the highlights of promotions outside Galaxy Apps. For details such as graphic image and video requirements, see Marketing Your Apps outside Galaxy Apps.

Galaxy Apps Badge Promotion

You can promote your Android apps and Gear apps by displaying a Galaxy Apps badge that sends your customers to your app's product detail page in the Galaxy Apps store, or to a page that helps them get to your app (depending on the user's device).  

After requesting and getting approved for a Galaxy App badge, Samsung generates your badge URL (an app-sharing shortURL), which you can link to the Galaxy Apps badge image insert it into your marketing media (including websites and email), or use your badge URL directly in social media.  Currently, the badge is in the pilot phase, and is available only to select partners.

After your customers click a badge image or link to your badge URL , the resulting promotion depends on the user's device:

  • In a Samsung device browser, they are taken to your app's product detail page in the Galaxy Apps store.
  • In a non-Samsung device browser, and desktop browser, they are taken to a help page.

Theme Store Badge Promotion

You can promote your Theme product apps (themes, wallpapers, icon packs, and AODs) by displaying a Theme Store badge that sends your customers to your app's product detail page in the Theme Store, or to a page that helps them get to your app (depending on the user's device).  

After requesting and getting approved for a Theme Store badge, Samsung generates your badge URL (an app-sharing shortURL), which you can link to the Theme Store badge image insert it into your marketing media (including websites and email), or use your badge URL directly in social media.  Currently, the badge is in the pilot phase, and is available only to select partners.

App and Product Images

You can use images to promote your apps and products via your advertising channels. Images can be either standalone screenshots or screenshots overlaid on top of a Samsung device image (available from the Samsung Mobile Press Images, http://www.samsungmobilepress.com/).

Note: You can now download the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 and 8+ device images.

You can add a deep hyperlink to your websites, your marketing channels and media, and your app or product code, in order to promote your app or product available in Galaxy Apps. Typically, deep links point to your app product detail page in Galaxy Apps. However, where a deep link actually leads depends on your customer's device and the type of deep link you use.

Download Discount and Coupon Promotion

Register the following discounts and coupon codes via Seller Office and promote them outside the Galaxy Apps store. Your customers benefit when they purchase or download your apps and products.

Download Discounts

For your commercial (paid) apps and products that are being distributed, you can set one or more price discounts for your customers to download your app. You can set a discount percentage to apply to one or more countries to which your app is being distributed. You can also set a lower price for individual distribution countries. For each distribution country where users can pay by phone bill, you can choose whether or not to apply a discount to the phone bill price. For all types of discount, you can specify the time period in which your discount applies.

Download Coupon Codes

For your commercial (paid) apps and products that are being distributed, you can generate and issue coupon codes to your customers that enable them to download your app without paying during the online transaction. You can generate up to 1000 unique codes for each distribution country you select. You can issue a code to a customer in any way you choose. For example, you could issue codes free of charge, for a lower price than your app's full download price, or as part of a paid-for promotional package. 

Note: You must manage the issuing of coupon codes.

You can activate coupon code redemption starting at any future date you specify. While coupon code redemption is active, your customers enter their code during your app's purchase/download transaction. Code redemption remains active until all of the issued coupon codes have been redeemed, a redemption ending date you specify has been reached (up to 28 days after the starting date), or you terminate the coupon code redemption before the ending date.
