Setting Up and Controlling the Rich Notification Manager

RichNotificationManager must be created and running on the Android™ device for the Android app to send rich notifications to a connected Gear device, and to update or dismiss the rich notification on the Gear device.

Before the Android app is terminated, the Rich Notification Manager must be stopped to avoid resource wastage and prevent memory leaks. Your Android app can stop the Rich Notification Manager at any time.

SrnRichNotificationManager

SrnRichNotificationManager()

Constructs the RN Manager from the specified context of your application.

context Context in which the RN Manger object is created.

start()

Starts the RN Manager.

stop()

Stops the RN Manager.

To create and start the RN Manager:

SrnRichNotificationManager richNotificationManager = new
                                          SrnRichNotificationManager(context);
 
richNotificationManager.start();

To stop the RN Manager:

@Override
protected void onPause() {
    super.onPause();

    mRichNotificationManager.unregisterRichNotificationListener(this);
    mRichNotificationManager.stop();
}
