Manage Your Badges and Requests

Review your badge requests and badges, get badge URLs and code, review badge use reports, and delete badges

 

You can get reports about your customers use of your badge URLs. You can review the status of your badge requests and badges. You can copy your badge URL and HTML code, and use them in your marketing material. You can see reports of how effective your badges are, and delete ineffective badges.

 

To review reports of badge use by end-users

  • You have submitted one or more badge requests.
  • One or more of your badges have been activated.
  • One or more end-users have followed a badge or download URL link in your marketing media.
     
  1. Go to the SDP website (https://www.samsungdevelopers.com/).

    1. Log in and click SIGN IN.

    2. In the My Dashboard menu, click Badge Requests.

  2. Get a badge user click report:
    1. In the Badge Requests page, click Export Daily Click Data from last 6 months.
    2. Open the downloaded export.csv file.

      Note: In the example file above, no users clicked badges on the dates they were generated.
       
    3. Review the following:

      Date

      Date (M/D/YYYY) of the badge report entry, which is either:

      • A day that one or more users clicked the badge
      • The day the badge was generated, which may or may not have user clicks.
         

      App Name

      Title of your Android, Gear, or Theme app associated with the badge
       

      Badge Type

      The kind of app store page targeted by the badge URL:

      • Android - App promotion page for one Android app
      • Gear - App promotion page for one Gear app
      • Gear Brand Page - Seller brand page that lists all of your Gear apps
      • Theme - App promotion page for one Theme app
      • Theme Brand Page - Seller brand page that lists all of your Theme apps
         

      Samsung Device Clicks

      Total number of badge clicks by users from a Samsung mobile device, which led to the targeted app store pages
       

      Non-Samsung Device Clicks Total number of badge clicks by users from a device other than a Samsung mobile device, which led to the help page
       
      Desktop Clicks Total number of badge clicks by users from a desktop PC device, which led to the help page

 

To manage your badge requests, URLs, and code

  • You have submitted one or more badge requests. Badge URLs may or may not have been generated and used.
  • You logged in and navigated to the Badge Requests webpage (see the procedure above).
  • If you need help, send us an email (support@samsungdevelopers.com).
  1. In Your Badges list:

    1. Navigate to your badge request entry and review the following:
      Name  Title of the Android, Gear, or Theme app associated with the badge
       

      ShortURL

      Badge URL generated for the app

      You can copy and paste this badge URL and use it with or without a badge image or with another image.
       

      Total Clicks

      Number of times that users, from all types of devices and desktops, clicked a link to your badge URL, from its generation date

      Depending on the type of badge and the user's device, users may have gone to your app's promotion page, your seller brand page, or the badge help page.
       

      Created Date (MM/DD/YYYY) you submitted a request to generate the badge URL
       

      Download Badge

      When your badge URL is active, a link to download badge HTML code

      Click the link, copy the code, and insert the code in your marketing material to display the badge image link.
       

      Delete Badge

      When your badge URL is active, a link to request that your badge URL be deactivated

      Your badge URL remains active until your request is approved.

      When your request is approved:

      • Your badge URL is deactivated and can no longer be used.
      • Your badge listing is removed from Your Badges list.
      • The tag in the badge URL can be used when requesting a different badge URL.

      Status

      Current functional state of your badge request or badge URL: 

      Review in Progress Your badge URL request is being reviewed by the SDP team. A badge URL has not be generated.
      Active The badge URL has been generated, is active, and can be used.

      Disabled by Admin

      The badge URL has been deactivated by the SDP team and cannot be used.

      Contact the SDP team.

      Deletion in Progress

      You badge URL deactivation request is being reviewed by the SDP team. Your badge URL can still be used.

 

  1. To use a badge URL by itself, copy the shortURL and add hyperlinks that target it in your marketing media.
  2. To download a badge image that is not linked to a badge URL, click [Badge app type] EPS or [Badge app type] PNG.
  3. To use code that displays the badge image suitable for your app and is linked to your badge URL:
    1. Click [Your badge listing] Download HTML.
    2. Put the downloaded HTML code in your marketing media.
       
  4. To submit a request to deactivate a badge URL:
    1. Click the [Your badge listing] Delete Badge.
    2. Your Badges listing status changes to Deletion in Progress.
    3. The SDP team reviews the request and typically takes one business day to either grant or deny the request.
    4. If your request is denied, the SDP team communicates through email with the Seller Office account holder and the SDP account holder to try to resolve the matter.
    5. If your request is accepted:
      1. The badge URL is deactivated and cannot be used.
      2. Your Badges listing is removed.
      3. The badge URL tag is then made available for use by others and by you.
