Get Your Own Badges

Get a badge and promote your Android apps, Gear apps, and Theme apps.

You can insert badge images directly into your marketing materials and link the images to your badge URLs, or link other UI elements and text to your badge URLs. You can also download badge HTML code and insert in your marketing materials to display a badge images that are already linked.

Depending on your type app, you can generate a badge URL to send your Samsung mobile device customers to either:

All badge URLs will send your non-Samsung mobile device or desktop PC browser customers to a help page that explains how to get to your app download page or your seller brand page.

Get Your Badges

You can submit a request to generate a badge URL, copy and use badge URLs, download and use badge images, submit a request to de-activate a badge URL, and review the status of and information about your badge requests and URLs.

To get a badge URL for one of your Android apps

  • You must have an SDP account.
  • At least one Android app must be distributed in the Samsung Galaxy Apps store.
  • If you need help with requesting or using badges, send us an email (support@samsungdevelopers.com).
     
  1. Go to the SDP website (https://www.samsungdevelopers.com/).

    1. Log in and click SIGN IN.

    2. In the Dashboard menu, click Badge Requests.
       
  1. In the Badge Requests page:
    1. Click App Type* (Android).

    2. Complete the following:
      Seller Office Account Email Address * Your Samsung account email address that you use to log into Seller Office

      App Name *

      Title of your badge (for example,a name related to an app, part or all of your product line, or a promotional campaign)

      The title is only displayed in the Your Badges table and in badge user click reports. We recommend you use a catchy name that is easy to track.

      Preferred Tag *

      A character set (three to nine alphanumeric characters, case-insensitive, and must be unique among all active badge URLs) that becomes part of your badge URL (http://galxy.us/[tag])

      We recommend a tag that is easy for your customers to type.

      Package Name *

      Your app's unique ID

      The package name follows Java convention (for example, trueheart.org.Heart2Heart, where Heart2Heart is the app name). The package name is used in the badge shortURL.

      To get the package name from Seller Office (http://seller.samsungapps.com): log in, go to the My Applications page and click your app's For Sale status. In your app page, click Binary tab and then click a binary file's File Name. The package name is in the Package Name field.

    3. Review, accept, or decline the badge terms and conditions:
      1. Click Terms & Conditions.
      2. Review the terms and conditions.
      3. If you agree:
        1. Checkmark By clicking on "Submit Request" you accept the Terms & Conditions.
        2. Review your badge information and click SUBMIT REQUEST.
           
  2. Your badge request is processed by the SDP team.
    1. Your badge request is added to Your Badges list with Review in Progress status (see below).
    2. The SDP team reviews your request and typically takes one business day to process it.
    3. If your request is rejected:
      1. The SDP team communicates through email with the Seller Office account holder and the SDP account holder to resolve the matter.
      2. Manage Your Badge Requests.
         
    4. If your request is accepted:
      1. Your submitted badge request in the Your Badges list changes to Active status.
      2. Your app's badge URL will be available in Your Badges list.
      3. Manage Your Badges.
         

To get a badge for one or all of your Gear apps

  • You must have an SDP account.
  • At least one Android or Gear app must be distributed in the Samsung Galaxy Apps store.
  • At least one Theme app must be distributed in the Samsung Themes Store.
  • Determine whether you want the badge to link to:
    • A product detail page of one of your Android, Gear, or Theme apps.
    • Your seller brand page for your Gear or Theme apps.

    3. Complete the following:
      Seller Office Account Email Address * Your Samsung account email address that you use to log into Seller Office

      App Name *

      Title of your app that is registered in Seller Office, and displayed throughout the Galaxy Apps store and in reports

      We recommend you use a catchy title that is easy to track.

      Preferred Tag * A character set (three to nine alphanumeric characters) that is easy for your customers to type and will make your badge URL unique

      Package Name *

      Your app's unique ID, which is used in the badge shortURL

      To get the package name from Seller Office, log in, go to the My Application page and click your app's For Sale status. In your app page, click Binary tab. The package name is in the Package field.

      For web Gear apps (.wgt files), the package name (10 alphanumeric characters) is automatically generated by Tizen Studio, and does not contain the app name.

      For example in Tizen Studio, the web Gear app below has the package name WQc8bclrm3

      For native Gear apps(.tpk files), the package name follows Java convention, contains the app name), and is also referred to as the app ID.

      For example in Tizen Studio,the native Gear app below has the package name org.example.contactsui.

      To get the package name from Seller Office (http://seller.samsungapps.com): log in, go to the My Applications page and click your app's For Sale status. In your app page, click Binary tab and then click a binary file's File Name. The package name is in the Package Name field.

  2. To submit a badge request for your Gear seller brand page (to promote all of your Gear apps):
    1. In the Badge Requests page, click App Type* (Gear).
    2. Click URL Type* (Seller Brand Page).

    3. Complete the following:
      Seller Office Account Email Address * Your Samsung account email address that you use to log into Seller Office
      Brand Name * Name of your seller brand

      Brand ID *

      Unique identifier (10 numeric characters) assigned by Samsung to your Seller Office account

      To get the value of your brand ID:

      1. Go to your seller brand page in the Gear Store section of Galaxy Apps.
      2. Use the Share function and select a 'Share via' method.

      3. Copy the 10-number value of brandId=##########

      Seller Deeplink *

       

      Unique identifier (10 alphanumeric characters) of your Seller Office account

      To get the value of your seller deeplink:

      1. Go to your profile page in Seller Office.

      2. Copy the 10-alphanumeric entry in the Seller Deeplink field.
