Change Your Applications and In-App Items

After your app and its in-app items pass validation and are normally released, you can update them and beta or normally release the updated version. You can also temporarily or permanently stop their beta and normal releases.

Update Your Apps

You can update an app at any time, which produces two entries in the My Applications page: the original version, and the update version.

You can then do the following:

  • Stop the update by clicking its Delete.
  • Complete the registration of a normal update and submit it for normal release:
    • In My Applications, click Updating. In the app's registration page, complete the changes and click Submit.
    • If the update only includes the following changes: that change paid app prices, that do not change content presented to users when running or viewing the app, and/or that do not change in-app item information displayed in a Samsung app store:
      • The updated app will not undergo validation testing.
      • The updated app will be normally released.
      • The updated registration information will replace the original registration information.
      • The original app release will be stopped.

    • If the update includes: app binary file changes, and/or changes that do change content presented to users when running or viewing the app and/or in-app item information displayed in a Samsung app store:
      • The updated app will undergo validation testing (App Validation through Seller Office).
      • After passing:
        • The updated app will be normally released.
        • The updated registration information will replace the original registration information.
        • The original app release will be stopped.

  • Complete a beta update registration for your Android and Gear app, and its in-app items, and submit them for beta release:
For details, see Update Your App and Update In-App Items.
    • In My Applications, click Updating. In the app's registration page, complete the changes and click Submit Beta Test.
    • The beta update app, and its in-app items, will not undergo validation testing.
    • Beta release testing will be supported by the Samsung ecosystem.
For details, see Android Beta Testing or Gear Beta Testing.

Update Your In-App Items

You can update an app's in-app items (add, change, or delete) at any time, with or without updating their app. Updating in-app items does not result in changes to the My Applications page.

You can change consumable and nonconsumable items. You cannot change subscription items, but you can delete them and then app a changed subscription item.

You can do the following:

  • Add an in-app item by clicking Add Item or Item Bulk Upload.
  • Delete an in-app item, so that it is not supported by the Samsung ecosystem, by clicking [its checkbox].
  • Change a consumable or nonconsumable item by clicking [its name].
For details, see Update In-App Items.
    • When changes do not change content presented to users when running the app or when viewing app and/or do not change in-app item information displayed in a Samsung app store:
      • Save the changed in-app item and click Submit in the app registration page.
      • The changed in-app item is immediately supported, without validation testing.

    • When changes do change content presented to users when running the app or when viewing app and/or do change in-app item information displayed in a Samsung app store:
      • Save the changed in-app item and click Submit in the app registration page.
      • The in-app item will undergo validation testing (App Validation through Seller Office).
      • After passing, it will be supported.

Suspend and Delete Your Apps and In-App Items

You can suspend beta and normal releases of your apps, and delete your apps:
